The green fairy haunts dreams
Colours the paper this is written on
She flies on gossamer winds
Bleeds chlorophyll when cut
By the wit of poets
You can look at her
You can smell her
You can drink her
She is whatever you want her to be
Banned in some climes
For her noxious notoriety
They changed their minds
With the new dawning
The new twisting of meanings
That tint windows with wishes

Well,well, well. Well done!
ReplyDeleteNot medium rare? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan.
I've always preferred mine well-done but if medium rare is your pleasure, why...:)
ReplyDeleteI'm just (very) partial to green and with the reference to a fairy this could almost be an Irish poem, hmm? "Bleeds chlorophyll when cut" I like that.
"By the wit of poets" or by the sarcasm of Sue...it's the same cut. Hard to heal :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments, Susan. Always appreciated.
