Cyclops’ eye
is brown,
once green
but too much envy
of the
two-eyed changed the color to rust.
He once
caught a mermaid
in his net
intended for fish.
He pulled
her out of the water roughly,
bruising her
hands stuck in the rope.
Her tail
instantly turned into legs
but the
rarely-used limbs
made her
stumble in the sand as she ran.
Cyclops
picked her up gently and with a smirk
said that if
she tried to escape again,
he would eat
her raw without vinegar or salt.
She thought
he looked almost handsome
when he smiled.
